Your Support is Needed
“It’s what’s missing that inspired us.”
Many neighbors believe a multi-use route on par with beloved trails elsewhere in Austin is long overdue. Advocates of building such a trail see this as a way to “connect the dots” by using existing parks and public properties, and believe the costs can be shared through public sector/private contributions to make this happen as quickly as possible.
The proposed EastLink community improvement project creates a safe, accessible connection to Lady Bird Lake, Parque Zaragoza, the Boggy Creek Greenway, Downs-Mabson Field, SFC’s Community Garden, the MLK Redline Station and ultimately, Bartholomew Park.
This is an opportunity to restore approximately 5.4 miles of existing trails and fill in a few missing sections, adding accessibility, connectivity, safety, and value to our community. With your support and feedback, we can make this happen!
Having a safe and accessible connection to Lady Bird Lake, Parque Zaragoza, the Boggy Creek Greenway, Downs-Mabson Field, Sustainable Food Center’s Community Garden, the MLK Redline Station and ultimately, Bartholomew Park is something we could really use!
We want to talk about this! Please let us know if you would like a presentation on EastLink for your community group.
